Duruflé Requiem and readings on the centenary of Armistice Day.
The musical highlight of the Warwick Poppies tribute is a community performance to commemorate the centenary of Armistice Day. Readings of World War I poetry will be interleaved with the music to explore the themes of prayer, anguish and salvation that permeate Duruflé's Requiem.Star of TV and film, Michael Maloney, joins some of Warwick's finest musicians under the baton of Alex Laing in this collaborative presentation.
Da Capo Chamber Choir, the Gentlemen of St Mary's Choir, King's High School Senior Choirs and other friends form the Warwick Poppies Chorus, while the Foundation Poppies Ensemble comprises senior pupils and professionals from the Warwick Foundation schools.
